- The food that we eat: our dietetic
habits.
- Physical training. Aerobic exercises
practiced regularly.
- Enough rest: when we sleep our body
produces fresh life energy and does regenerate.
- The attitude of our mind: our acceptance
of others and ourselves, happiness, contentment, silence and peace.
- The body balance reflected in our body
symmetry: our internal and external beauty.
Health mainly is the result of our life
style and our relation with environment, that is why our health depends
a lot on us.
What is health for yoga?
If health is the result of our life habits:
the food we eat, the physical exercise we do and the rest we give to
ourselves, then most of the diseases that afflict human being are caused
by our everyday actions.
It may be heatlh the more valuable belonging
that a person has. Great part of our life worries will be around and
about our state of health.
For many people happiness is having an
acceptably good health.
Human beings take too long time in realizing
the influence of his life habits and his actions in the organism.
Normally during the childhood and youth
we acquired a style, a way of living that is difficult to modify in
the rest of our life. A percentage from the illness that a person suffers
is originated from those habits maintained along the years. Even if
we are being conscious of its wrong influence in us we sometimes are
incapable of changing it.
But in a specific moment in life all the
people search sincerely improving their style of life.
Yoga is only a valid instrument of improvement
in two determined situations: on one hand has a preventive character,
that is to say, teach us how live more healthily; and on the other hand
presents a corrective character, so that allows us to try the change
of that erroneous habits.
